Excuse my language, but BLOODY PRINTERS! Within the Indesign document which I spent many a long hour creating with the correct colours, imagery included. The images i have been working on where set in the correct colour mode and indeed saved in the right format. But non the less when it came to printing a proof we have the above, the image being one black and the background a completely other shade, although sharing the exact same CMYK values. After much frustration and many print credits, I took my problem to Mike Flowers to see what he could suggest as I had been printing in the mac suits, after some experimentation we came to the conclusion that it was indeed the printers and the way that they process the colours from different programs, ie that I had been using PDS files placed in InDesign. this would not be an issue if I where to print in the dungeon or if I where to sent for professional print. A quick solution to this problem would to print down in the basement, but of course once I had discovered the problem, there where no slots until the day after the module deadline, so I was forced to take the long route re edit every picture into a PDS file with a transparent background that covered each double page spread of the layout, therefore tricking the printer, long winded but good results.
